As an ADHD person, one thing that's really helpful to get me to take action is compassionate containers. A deadline (but not a super high-pressure one!)
So when I hosted my live training The Long-Form Content Cookbook, I made a special offer to promote my student's long-form content that they created based on the training, if they had it published and sent to me by a certain date.
This wasn't about creating the most perfectest piece of content. It’s about creating something good enough and getting it done and getting yourself doing the thing.
Because it's impossible to get the benefits of long-form content without actually getting started at creating it, and for some of us, getting started is precisely what's hardest.
So I told them to think of it as the first pancake.
The one that’s always a little wonky, not very pretty, maybe soaked up a bit too much oil in the pan.
But it’s still a pancake!
And you’ve got to make the first pancake in order to get to the rest of them.
Without further ado, I'm so mama-bear proud to introduce the first pancakes of these Long-Form Content Cookbook alumni!

The Eisenhower Matrix according to your brain
By Jenna Hellberg, Business Coach
Mixing the Pillar Concepts Recipe & the Idea Exploration Recipe from the training
The common consensus around the Eisenhower Matrix is that once you organize tasks by urgency and importance, you can prioritize your most important work more effectively. But I never see time management experts talk about WHY the important (but not urgent) tasks are challenging to follow through on – even if you feel like they’ll make a difference for your business *and* you’ve blocked out time for them. In this blog post, I break down what your brain has to say about tasks according to the Eisenhower Matrix, so that you can stop being so hard on yourself. |
